The PCB stated that the decision is a continuation of Hayden’s involvement with the national men’s team after he inspire them to the World Cup semifinals last year.

“I welcome Matthew Hayden back in Pakistan colors,” PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja said. “He is a proven performer with credentials acknowledge and recognize worldwide.”

“He brings with him a wealth of knowledge about Australian conditions, and I am confident that his participation will greatly benefit our extremely talented cricketers for the World Cup and future tours Down Under.”

The PCB has also found sponsors to cover Hayden’s fees.

“I am extremely excited to be reuniting with the Pakistan team and can’t wait to join the culture again and feel the spirit of One Nation, One Passion,” Hayden was quoted in a PCB release as saying.

“I’ve seen how Pakistan has been performing in the ACC T20 Asia Cup, and their win over India on Sunday was brilliant.”

“I believe this Pakistan team has what it takes to excel in Australia, and the conditions will suit them well, both batting and bowling.” “This team has covered all of its bases, and I am confident it will light up the World Cup like it did in the UAE last year,” the hulking Australian said.
