Whether India can play T20Is without Rishabh Pant, according to Ashish Nehra. Rishabh Pant’s performances in the ongoing SA series have been underwhelming.

Former India pacer Ashish Nehra believes India can perform well in Twenty20 Internationals even without wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant. Nehra went on to say that Pant’s dismissal has been a source of concern because he has been unable to break the pattern of getting out in a ridiculous manner by playing poor shots.

In KL Rahul’s absence due to a groin injury, the Delhi cricketer is currently captaining India in the ongoing home series against South Africa. The series is currently tied at 2-2, with the decider being played at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Due to rain, the match has been reduced to 19 overs per side.

Rishabh Pant can do some tactical changes: Ashish Nehra

“He can do a tactical change. Can use the crease and decide where would he stand. He can move towards off stump so that he can come closer to the ball,” said Ashish Nehra while interacting on Cricbuzz Live.

“You must also observe how the bowlers have discovered a pattern.” But the thing that concerns me is that he is not able to break the pattern of getting out ridiculously”, he added.

Rishabh Pant has been average with the bat in this series, with scores of 17, 6, 5, and 29. While the southpaw made a good start in the previous game in Rajkot, he was unable to convert it into an impactful knock. The youngster will now be desperate to redeem himself in the fifth and final T20I as India looks to wrap up the series.
