Dale Steyn Major Statement on  India Star Rishabh Pant

Dale Steyn Major Statement on  India Star Rishabh Pant. Rishabh Pant has 57 runs in four games in the ongoing series against South Africa.

Dinesh Karthik, who played his first T20I in 2006, is still proving his worth in the shortest format of the game. On Friday, 16 years after making his T20I debut, he hit his first fifty in the shortest format against South Africa in the fourth T20I of the five-match series, helping India level the series. The 37-year-old went on to score 55 runs off just 27 balls, including nine fours and two sixes.

Stand-in skipper Rishabh Pant, on the other hand, has struggled with the bat, scoring only 57 runs in four games. Former Proteas pacer Dale Steyn stated that Pant appears to be repeating himself.

“Good Players Learn From Their Mistakes, He Has Not”: Dale Steyn

“Pant has four chances in this series and appears to be making the same mistakes. Furthermore, you believe that good players learn from their mistakes; he has not. DK has consistently demonstrated his ability as a class player. If you want to win the World Cup, you should select a player who is in good form. There are guys who teams will pick based on reputation, but DK is in such fantastic form that if he keeps it up, he will be one of the first names on the plane when India tours for the World Cup later this year “Steyn said on ESPNcricinfo’s ‘T20 Time Out.’

Steyn went on to say about Karthik: “DK has been in fantastic form. He’s gotten a lot better this year. He has the mindset of a wicketkeeper, he reads the game extremely well, he knows and understands what bowlers are trying to do, and he backs it up with exceptional skill. He sweeps, sweeps, and laps in reverse. They are shots played by someone who reads and understands the game, knows what the bowler is going to bowl and when he is going to bowl.”

“He does it so well,” he said, “he attacks the first and last ball of the over, he puts the bowlers under pressure on ball one, and then the guys, they don’t really have an answer.”

Team India easily defended 169 in the fourth T20I, dismissing South Africa for 87. Avesh Khan was the standout bowler, returning with four wickets.

The series finale will now be played on Sunday evening at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
