Wriddhiman Saha, a veteran wicketkeeper-batter, is set to leave Bengal after 15 years of domestic cricket for the state. Saha had opted out of the Ranji Trophy league stage this year but was named to their squad for the knockout stages. After which he sought a NOC to leave Bengal. Saha has now spoken out about his decision to leave. Stating that he inform Cricket Association of Bengal president Avishek Dalmiya that he has decided to leave the domestic side. But will meet with him to finalize the formalities.

Wriddhiman Saha also hurt by CAB joint-secretary Debabrata Das’ comments earlier this year questioning his commitment to Bengal.

“It’s a very sad feeling for me, too, that I have to go through something like this after playing for Bengal for so long,” Saha said of the CAB official’s comments.

“It is disappointing that people make such remarks and call your integrity into question. As a player, I had never experienced anything like this before, but now that it has occurred, I, too, must (move on) “he said.

Saha remained tight-lipped about his plans for the coming season.

“I’ve talked to a lot of people, but no decision has been made. There is still time to prepare for the following season “he said.

Saha recently played a key role in Gujarat Titans’ first Indian Premier League season, assisting them in winning the coveted trophy.

In 11 matches, he scored 317 runs, including three half-centuries.
