IPL 2022. Pat Cummins stumbles before completing a relay catch with Shivam Mavi. Cummins and Shivam Mavi worked well together for a relay catch to dismiss Riyan Parag off Sunil Narine’s bowling.
Pat Cummins of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) joined forces with teammate Shivam Mavi to complete a relay catch that helped them dismiss Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match on Monday. In the 18th over of their innings, Parag attempted to take Sunil Narine to task by hitting a full delivery straight down the ground. Pat Cummins ran in from long-off to grab the ball because he didn’t get enough on it. However, as his momentum carried him towards the boundary rope, he stumbled but managed to toss the ball to Shivam Mavi before collapsing.
Take a look at Pat Cummins and Shivam Mavi’s collaborative effort to remove Riyan Parag.
KKR won the toss and chose to field, but Jos Buttler smashed 103 off 61 deliveries to lead the Royals to a 217/5 victory. It was his second century of the season and third overall in the IPL.
Sanju Samson (38 off 19) and Shimron Hetmyer also made useful contributions (26 off 13).
After losing Narine early, Shreyas Iyer (85 off 51) and Aaron Finch (58 off 28) gave KKR a good start, but Yuzvendra Chahal took five wickets, including a hat-trick, to ensure the Royals successfully defended their total.
In a thrilling chase, KKR came up just seven runs short.
RR moved up to second place in the IPL 2022 points table with the victory. Meanwhile, KKR is ranked sixth.
