Pat Cummins astounded cricket fans in India and around the world on Wednesday with one of the most entertaining knocks in IPL history. Cummins scored the tournament’s joint-fastest 50, taking just 14 balls to reach his half-century, and led his team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a comprehensive win over five-time champions Mumbai Indians, putting the team in purple atop the IPL 2022 points table.

Cummins smashed six sixes and four boundaries in an over and hit fellow Australian pacer Daniel Sams for 35 runs to accelerate KKR’s march to victory.

KKR has now released some videos of Cummins batting in the nets ahead of the game, demonstrating how he had been practicing big hits in the nets.

Cummins’ effort is comparable to that of KL Rahul, who also hit a 14-ball half-century in the 2018 IPL.

Cummins was purchased by KKR in the IPL mega auction in February for Rs 7.25 crore.
