Sunil Gavaskar Evaluates KL Rahul’s Captaincy Stint With Punjab Kings In IPL2022

Sunil Gavaskar Evaluates KL Rahul’s Captaincy Stint With Punjab Kings In IPL2022. Before KL Rahul’s first game for the Lucknow Super Giants, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar explained why the batter was distracted while leading the Punjab Kings.

KL Rahul is gearing up to lead the Lucknow Super Giants for the first time they face the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Sunil Gavaskar, a former India captain, evaluated Rahul’s captaincy stint with the Punjab Kings ahead of this game. Rahul “seemed preoccupied” while leading the Punjab-based franchise in the cash-rich league, according to Gavaskar.

“When he was captain of the Punjab Kings, he appear to be preoccupied; perhaps he wasn’t getting the 11 he desired. The new franchise Lucknow Super Giants will be a different challenge for KL. If he can bat like he did in previous seasons and lead the team to the knockouts. If not the finals, he will have taken a significant step forward in his own cricketing career. Gavaskar stated this on the Star Sports show ‘Gameplan.’

Gavaskar also stated ahead of the match between Lucknow and Gujarat Titans. Rahul and Quinton de Kock will make a devastating opening pair for the Lucknow Super Giants and will hold them in good stead throughout the competition.

“The best thing about Quinton de Kock is that he also has captaincy experience. He has served as South Africa’s captain and is familiar with all formats of the game. He understands what team building entails because we are discussing a different team right now. He’ll be eager to contribute to the team-building process “Gavaskar explained.

“KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock’s right-hand and left-hand combination makes a devastating opening pair that can get the team off to a flying start.” he added.

The IPL 2022 season began on March 26, and previous champions Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians both lost their first games. Even the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost their first match against the Punjab Kings.
