After six years, Australia will return to Sri Lanka for a full series in June 2022. The last time Australia visit Sri Lanka for a Test series, they were beaten 3-0.
Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed that AUS will tour the island nation in June for a series across all formats. The AUS team is currently on tour in PAK, where they will compete in the ongoing Test series as well as three ODIs and a one-off T20I. AUS will face Sri Lanka in three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), five One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and two Tests in their own backyard.
SLC has chosen Colombo, Kandy, and Galle as the three venues for the tour’s matches. A detail itinerary has yet to be release, but it is believe that Galle will host both Test matches. The T20I series between Australia and Sri Lanka will begin on June 7.
The action will return to Colombo for the final three ODIs before the action shifts to Galle for the Test series, which begins on June 29.

The Test series will be critical in determining Australia’s position in the top two of the World Test Championship points table (WTC). Meanwhile, SLC CEO Ashely De Silva is also excited about the upcoming tour, emphasizing how important all of the series are to Sri Lanka. According to him, with the T20 World Cup coming up later this year. The T20I series will undoubtedly aid the team’s preparations.
