Shimron Hetmyer has joined the RR after playing a high-impact Indian Premier Leagueseason for the Delhi Capitals in 2021. In reference to his possible role on the team, he added. “I’m prepared to fill any role that the team requires of me. It is critical to perform well as a member of the squad. And, in the end, I’ve always believe that if I just give myself the chance to be out there. The performance will come, regardless of the game’s situation.”
The Guyanese left-hander praises Royals coach Kumar Sangakkara’s leadership and believes the new squad has the potential to win the IPL this year “It’s an honor to play for someone like Kumar Sangakkara. A game legend, I’ve heard some incredible things about him and can’t wait to pick his brain about certain aspects of my game that will help me improve not only in the white-ball format, but also in the longer version of the game with the red ball. Yes, I’m very excited about the team we’ve assembled this year. I believe the squad has a good chance of winning the cup this year.”
