Steffan Jones appointed as the Rajasthan Royals’ High Performance Fast Bowling Coach for the IPL 2022 season.
Steffan Jones has been appointed as the Rajasthan Royals’ high performance fast bowling coach. The club announced on Friday. In 2019, the 48-year-old former Welsh pacer served as the team’s fast bowling coach. Jones will be responsible for providing high-quality training, guidance. And support to all bowlers in the Royals’ setup throughout the year, with a focus on the off-season and the build-up to the IPL season, according to a media release.
Jones will work with the team during their pre-season camp. Which will be held from March 7 to 10 at the Royals’ High Performance Centre in Nagpur. And will then stay with the squad to help the bowlers prepare for the upcoming season.

“I am thrill to be returning to the Rajasthan Royals and grateful to the team’s management for the opportunity. With a plethora of talented bowlers in our ranks, I’m excited to work with them all year and prepare them to peak and excel when the season arrives “Jones stated.
The former sprinter will also provide input to RR Academies in India and around the world, as well as assist in the technical integration of the facilities.
Current and future Royals players would also have the opportunity to visit and train with Jones, where former Royals players Jaydev Unadkat and Varun Aaron have previously successfully undergone development work during the off season.
“Steffan is closely associate with the franchise over the last few years. So he understands the culture perfectly, and brings with him a very capable coaching style, which has been appreciated by both players and management in the past,” said Royals Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara.
“We are delight to welcome him back to the franchise in his new role. Where he will work with our bowlers and provide support to them throughout the year, and we are confident that his expertise can guide us to greater heights.”
