Nasum Ahmed uses his best figures in his career to rattle Afghanistan’s batters. Ahmed claimed crucial wickets of Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Darwish Rasooli, and Karim Janat, jolting the visitors in their 156-run chase.
Nasum Ahmed, a left-arm spinner, turned the ball square and mixed his variations intelligently as he took four wickets to rattle Afghanistan’s top order and help his team to a 61-run victory in the first T20I on Thursday at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Furthermore, Nasum claimed crucial wickets of Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Darwish Rasooli, and Karim Janat, jolting the visitors in their 156-run chase.
Here’s a look of Nasum Ahmed brilliant spell:
After captain Mahmudullah won the toss and chose to bat, the home team cruised to a comfortable victory.
Liton Das, the wicketkeeper-batter, bat brilliantly for 60 runs before being caught by Fazalhaq Farooqi. However, the rate at which Das scored set the stage for the rest of the batters to push the final score past the 150-run mark.
Farooqi and Azmatullah each took two wickets, while Rashid Khan and Qais Ahmad each had one wicket.
In response, Afghanistan never really got deep into the run-chase, and aside from Najibullah Zadran and Azmatullah Omarzai, no other batter could provide resistance and fell tamely to Bangladesh bowlers’ guile.
The visitors were bowl out for 94 runs in 17.4 overs, handing the hosts a 61-run victory.
The second T20I is scheduled for March 5 at the same location.
