Ravichandran Ashwin, one of the finest spinners to have ever graced the game, has been nothing short of a nightmare for batters in his Test career thus far. While the talismanic off-spinner has a stunning record in home Tests, his international numbers have also improved in recent years. In fact, he was crucial in India’s 2-1 victory over Australia last year.

Ashwin took 12 wickets in three games on the fast Australian pitches. He also chastised Marnus Labuschagne, the current top-ranked Test batter. When asked about his battle with the Indian spinner, the right-handed batter described Ashwin as a “tremendous thinker of the game.” Labuschagne, commenting on the spinner’s success, said the 35-year-old “explores different ways of taking wickets and is never short of options.”
