Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan became the first batsman to score 2,000 men’s T20 runs in a calendar year. He reached the milestone during Pakistan‘s seven-wicket victory over the West Indies in the third and final T20I in Karachi on Thursday. During Pakistan‘s chase, he achieved the feat in the 11th over. Pakistan scored 208 for three in 18.5 overs, chasing a goal of 208 runs, with Rizwan scoring 87 runs off 45 balls. He also hit 10 fours and three sixes in his scorching performance.
Babar Azam, Rizwan’s opening partner, was also in fine form, scoring 79 runs in 53 deliveries. In addition, he had nine fours and two maximums.
Mohammad Rizwan becomes: Asif Ali, meanwhile, completed the hosts’ victory with an undefeated knock of 21 from seven balls. He also had two fours and two sixes in his knock.
For the visitors, Romario Shepherd, Dominic Drakes, and Odean Smith each took a wicket.
West Indies had earlier produced a total of 207 for three in 20 overs, with captain Nicholas Pooran scoring 64 runs off 37 balls. Pooran also had two fours and six maximums in his hand.
The West Indies got off to a good start as well, with openers Brandon King and Sharmarh Brooks each scoring 43 and 49 runs.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Wasim was in fine form, taking two wickets in four overs. Meanwhile, Shahnawaz Dahani was also sent off for the hosts.
