ISRO Signed 6: The Indian Space. Research Organisation (ISRO) has signed six agreements with four countries for the launch of foreign satellites between. 2021 and 2023, according to Union Minister Jitendra Singh.
Mr Singh stated in a written reply to a query in the. Rajya Sabha that the commercial launch of these foreign satellites will bring in around 132 million Euros.
“ISRO has been launching satellites belonging to other countries on-board Polar. Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) on a commercial basis through its commercial arm, New Space India Limited (NSIL), a Government of India corporation under the Department of Space (DOS),” Singh added.
He further stated that as of now, the NSIL has signed six Launch Service Agreements with customers from four countries for the launch of foreign satellites into space on PSLV between 2021 and 2023.
A total of 124 indigenous satellites, including 12 student satellites, have been launched into Earth’s orbit.
In a written response to a similar question in the Rajya Sabha today, Singh stated that a total of 342 foreign satellites from 34 nations have been successfully launched onboard PSLV on a commercial basis since 1999.
According to the Minister, India has generated around 35 million dollars and 10 million euros in foreign exchange revenue from the launch of foreign satellites onboard Indian launch vehicles over the last three years, from 2019 to 2021.
