Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister, has stated that he is the “only MLA from my caste.”
Jaipur, Rajasthan:
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Thursday that he was elected chief minister for the third time in a row due of the people’s “love and faith.” Mr Gehlot went on to say that he could not have been Chief Minister because of his caste.
Mr Gehlot was addressing at the Birla Auditorium in Jaipur during the first convocation ceremony of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University.
“For the third time, I was elected chief minister. On the basis of caste, I would not have been able to become the CM. I am the lone MLA from my caste in the legislature “Mr. Gehlot explained.
“I wouldn’t have been in a position to stand in front of you and say this if the people of ’36 qaum’ didn’t love me and the people of the state didn’t trust me,” he added.
