CEO of Cricket Australia: “would love to see Tim Paine play again.”

Nick Hockley, CEO of Cricket Australia, has welcomed Tim Paine’s return to the country’s Test squad. Saying he wants to see the former captain “playing and performing” for Australia once more.

After stepping down as Test captain ahead of the Ashes in the aftermath of a’sexting’ scandal in which he sent improper texts to a female coworker in 2017. Paine took an indefinite mental health break from the game. “I’d love to see him play for his state and Australia again,” Hockley told SEN.

“As soon as possible, we want to see him out there playing and performing.”

Paine’s decision to retire sparked rumors that he will never play for Australia again. Since the wicketkeeper-batsman was set to retire at the conclusion of this summer.

Cricket Australia was also chastised for its handling of the situation. With Cricket Tasmania head Andrew Gaggin describing it as. “Appalling” and “the worst since Bill Lawry over 50 years ago.”

“Members of our high-performance team have traveled to Tasmania. And the head coach has met with him.

“We’re all very worried about Tim and want to make sure he’s adequately supported. Tim deserves a lot of credit for owning up to his error, and our responsibility now is to fully support him.”
