IPL Retention: All Franchises Release Full List Of Big Names Ahead Of IPL Mega Auction.

Prior to the IPL super auction, a lot of top cricketers have been released by their respective franchises.

During the IPL retentions on Tuesday. The existing eight clubs kept a total of 27 cricketers, including eight overseas players and four uncapped players.

Here are some of the prominent names who aren’t on the retention list.

List Of Big Names Ahead Of IPL Retention

Mumbai Indians

MI has the most tough selections to make every year. However, When IPL retention takes place before the mega auction, and this year was no exception. MI retained Rohit Sharma (Rs 16 crore), Jasprit Bumrah (Rs 12 crore), Suryakumar Yadav (Rs 8 crore), and Kieron Pollard (Rs 6 crore), but had to let go of Ishan Kishan, Trent Boult, Hardik Pandya, and Krunal Pandya.

Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya, Trent Boult are among the notable players that have been released by MI.

Chennai Super Kings

Four-time champions Chennai Super Kings kept Ravindra Jadeja (Rs 16 crore), MS Dhoni (Rs 12 crore), Moeen Ali (Rs 8 crore), and Ruturaj Gaikwad (Rs 6 crore), but Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, and Dwayne Bravo were left out. Bravo and Raina, in particular, have been a vital part of the CSK set-up for quite some time, but it looks that the franchise has decided to move to the future.

Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis. Suresh Raina and Deepak Chahar are among the CSK big names that have been freed.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

After AB de Villiers announced his departure from the IPL, RCB didn’t have many difficult decisions to make. However, the choice to keep just Mohammed Siraj and not Harshal Patel, who had the purple cap last season, raised some questions. Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg-spinner, was also left out.

Harshal Patel, Devdutt Padikkal, and Yuzvendra Chahal are among the RCB’s big names who have been released.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The two-time IPL champions went with their tried-and-true Caribbean duo of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. There was also a lot of reliance placed in young guns Varun Chakaravarthy and Venkatesh Iyer, hence Shubman Gill was left out.

Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins. Shubman Gill, and Rahul Tripathi are among the KKR’s major names who have been released.

Delhi Capitals

The DC were the only team who could equal MI’s headache on retention day. However, Delhi franchise had a lot of options, but they could only keep Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, and Anrich Nortje due to the four retentions allowed.

Marcus Stoinis,  Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan, and Kagiso Rabada were among the prominent names released by DC.

Rajasthan Royals

They were largely reliant on their international battery. Which made it tough to keep the core together as IPL retention rules only allowed two foreign newcomers. Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler were chosen by RR, while uncapped Yashasvi Jaiswal was a surprising selection.

Mustafizur Rahman, Jofra Archer, and Ben Stokes are among the major players that have been released by RR.

SunRisers Hyderabad

They haven’t had the best of luck in the IPL, and this is reflected in their retention policy. More over, Even still, allowing Khan to join the auction pool was unexpected.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Jonny Bairstow, Kedar Jadhav, Manish Pandey, and David Warner  are among the notable names released by SRH.

Punjab Kings

Several speculations suggested that KL Rahul would no longer be a part of the franchise, and unfortunately for PBKS fans, all of them proved to be correct. Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh, an uncapped left-arm seamer, were retained by the Punjab Kings.

Mohammed Shami, Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Ravi Bishnoi, and KL Rahulare among the PBKS big names who have been released.
