Kanpur Test:  On Final day Rahul Dravid was “quite unresponsive.”

Rahul Dravid reflected on the Kanpur pitch from the previous day. And praised India’s bowlers for taking nine New Zealand wickets in the second innings.

The absence of juice in the pitch on the fifth and final days. According to India’s head coach Rahul Dravid, made it difficult for the edges to find the fielders. He described the Day 5 pitch as “very unresponsive” and praised his bowlers, particularly the spinners, for putting up a valiant battle that nearly resulted in a victory.

“In that final session, we maintained our composure and fighting spirit while working extremely hard. On the fifth day, the surface was fairly unresponsive, and it was a fantastic effort to take eight wickets after lunch, three in that session and five in the last session “In the post-match news conference, Dravid explained.

Dravid was surprised that the final day’s surface offered little in the way of spin and bounce. With the ball frequently failing to reach the slip cordon.

“It was low and slow, and it didn’t appear to have much bounce or a turn. Over the course of five days under Indian conditions, you should probably expect a little extra wear and tear on the fifth day. This didn’t seem to have the same bite as the others “Dravid expressed his opinion.

He described the typical circumstances in which the surface deteriorates on the final day of a Test match in India. Because of the absence of bounce, he says the outside edge was “essentially ruled out.”

Spinners may generally attack both the inside and outside edges on day five in India. You know you can get LBW by beating individuals on the inside edge. But, to be honest, the outside edge was virtually ruled out in this game “Dravid stated.

Dravid discussed how, in India, pitch cracks tend to spread as the game progresses, and how the winter season may have influenced this phenomena.

“On day five, you should get a little more aid and the cracks should spread a little bit, I don’t know, maybe it’s because it’s winter and the cracks didn’t open.”

Despite the difficult Kanpur pitch, Dravid praised India’s bowlers for their tenacity and drive in taking nine New Zealand wickets in the second innings.

“It gave the impression that there was only one method to get people out, bowled or possibly LBW, and there were probably two in the previous session. Despite this, we were able to take nine wickets (8) on the last day, although it was difficult, as we expected in Kanpur.
