Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval will attend the 56th Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police (DGP/IGP) on November 20-21 at Police Headquarters in Lucknow.
The conference will be held in a hybrid format over two days. Top cops or DGPs from states and union territories, as well as Chiefs of Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organizations, will attend the conference in person in Lucknow, while the rest of the invitees will participate online from 37 various places at IB/SIB Headquarters.
Amit Shah, the Home Minister, and Ajit Doval, the. National Security Adviser, will also be in Lucknow for the top security meeting.
PM Modi has been attending the DGPs’ conference since 2014. Unlike his previous symbolic presence, PM Modi attends all sessions of the conference and promotes free and informal conversations that allow top police officers to directly brief the Prime Minister on important policing and internal security matters affecting the country.
According to the Prime Minister’s vision, yearly conferences, which were previously held in Delhi, have been held outside of Delhi from 2014, with the exception of 2020, when the conference was held online.
Guwahati hosted the conference in 2014; Dhordo, Rann of Kutch hosted it in 2015; National Police Academy, Hyderabad hosted it in 2016; BSF Academy, Tekanpur hosted it in 2017; Kevadiya hosted it in 2018; and IISER, Pune hosted it in 2019.
