Prime Minister. Narendra Modi told the nation this morning on the occasion of. Guru Nanak Jayanti (Gurpurab), that the three laws were for the benefit of farmers, but that “despite our best efforts,” “we couldn’t convince a segment of farmers.”

“The farmers’ interests have been sacrificed for the political interests of the party (BJP),” he stated.

While he was Union Agriculture Minister, NCP chief. Sharad Pawar too had pushed for similar reforms, but for political reasons, he too opposed these laws later, Mr Ghanwat said. “As a farmers’ organization, we will continue to raise awareness about this,” he said.
