Wasim Jaffer summed up India’s victory over New Zealand in Jaipur with a humorous meme that he shared on Twitter.

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer, who is known for his humorous social media tweets, made a few fans giggle with a hilarious perspective on India’s triumph against New Zealand on Wednesday. The Men in Blue won the opening T20I of their three-match series against New Zealand, putting the new Rohit Sharma–Rahul Dravid era on a positive footing. A meme from the popular Bollywood film Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. was tweeted by the former Indian cricketer.
Through the meme, Jaffer implied that India’s win against New Zealand on Wednesday would have alleviated some of the agony felt by Indian fans following the T20 World Cup‘s recent defeat. Sanjay Dutt, the actor in the photograph, continues by saying, “My dream came true, and it’s scorching my heart. It hurts a little, but it’s not too bad.”
“Then what happened?” another actor asks Dutt in the shot, which is a composite.
“Then what…the New Zealand squad came to my region the next day,” the popular actor responds with a smile.
Fans reacted positively to the tweet, with many praising Jaffer’s sense of humour.
Team India was eliminated from the T20 World Cup after failing to advance to the semifinals. During the Super 12 stage, the Men in Blue placed third in their group, losing to Pakistan and New Zealand.
Ravi Shastri’s time as Team India’s head coach and Virat Kohli’s as T20I captain came to an end during the event. After the tournament, Kohli stepped down as T20I captain and was replaced by Rohit Sharma as the shortest format’s captain.
Following their departure, India will play New Zealand in a bilateral series. India won the first T20I match in India by five wickets in Jaipur on Wednesday. Following the T20I series, both teams will play two Test matches against each other.
India comfortably chased down a 165-run mark in the opening T20I, posting 166 for five in 19.4 overs. Suryakumar Yadav scored 62 off 40 balls and Rohit Sharma smacked 48 off 36 balls.
