Charith Asalanka: Sri Lanka beat the reigning champions West Indies by 20 runs in their final Super 12 encounter in Abu Dhabi on Thursday to complete their campaign on a strong note.
Sri Lanka finished the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in style on Thursday, defeating the defending champions West Indies by 20 runs in their final Super 12 match in Abu Dhabi.
The 2014 winners defeated Shimron Hetmyer’s brave 81 not out and Nicholas Pooran‘s 46 to defend 190 at the Zyed International Stadium, finishing fourth in Group 1 with 4 points behind England, Australia, and South Africa.
Dwayne Bravo, the former Windies captain, scored just two runs with the bat but got a wicket to finish with 78 runs in his 15-year career, which included two T20 World Cup victories in 2012 and 2016.

Charith Asalanka: Shimron Hetmyer put up a valiant fight near the end of the innings, but the target was simply too high for the Windies to achieve on the night.
