Puneeth Rajkumar, a Kannada actor, died tragically young at the age of 46. Thousands of admirers gathered at Bengaluru’s Kanteerava Stadium on Friday night to pay their tributes to the late actor.
Vanditha and Dhrithi are Puneeth’s two daughters.
Puneeth, the son of actor Rajkumar, was a well-known actor in the South Indian cinema industry. On Friday, he died of a heart attack.
The actor, affectionately known as ‘Appu’ by his admirers, began his career as a kid artist. For the film Bettada Hoovu, he also won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist. Later, in 2002, he made his film debut with Appu, which became an instant hit. Some of his best-known films include Raam, Hudugaru, and Anjani Putra.
As soon as the news of the Kannada actor’s sad death broke, everyone from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Congress’ Rahul Gandhi to Bollywood celebs conveyed their sorrow.
R Madhavan paid tribute to the late actor with a touching tweet. “ONE OF OUR KINDEST, NICEST, AND NOBLE SOULS HAS GONE. I’m not sure what I’m feeling. I’m in such a bad mood. You have left us befuddled and heartbroken, brother. The sun is shining better today. I’m still hoping that this isn’t the case “It said in his tweet.
Anil Kapoor also expressed his sympathies, writing, “#PuneethRajkumar’s death is shocking and heartbreaking. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the family…”
