In their 20 overs, Afghanistan scored 147-6, with Gulbadin Naib and skipper Mohammad Nabi both reaching 35.

Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain, was full of admiration for Asif.

Babar, whose side leads Group 2 with six points in three games, stated, “I was extremely confident Asif will get us out of any difficulties we found ourselves in.”

“Asif’s hitting was impeccable, which is why we chose him.”
