Sri Lanka tops Bangladesh by 5 wickets in T20 World Cup

Sri Lanka: Half a century of Charis Asalanka and Bhanuka Rajapaksa beat former T20 World Champion Sri Lanka with five tickets to the sloppy Bangladesh side in their creepy Super 12 opening game on Sunday.

Asalanka defeated 80 out of 49 undefeated.

And Rajapaksa broke 53 out of 31 to 1725, seven behind Sri Lanka.

Previously, Bangladesh hit a challenging total of 1714 after being put in a racket.

“It was not the easiest target to chase but once batsmen are set, any target can be chased,” Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka said. “It was an outstanding inning from Asalanka. It’s very important that youngsters step up at this stage, it was really nice to see that.”
