The clash between the two bitter rivals will be their sixth clash in the flagship T20 event.
The two teams met in the first round of the first T20 World Cup in 2007, which India won in a bowl. Later in the tournament, India beat Pakistan in the final by five runs to claim the title. In 2012, 2014, and 2016 editions.

Gautam Gambhir (2007)
After Gautam Gambhir was sacked by a duck in the group match against Pakistan.
Gautam Gambhir played a memorable inning in the final when his imitation of 75 54-ball runs helped India to 157/5 in 20 overs despite the fact that the other batter had a disappointing performance.
India won by five races and secured the title in Johannesburg.
Irfan Pathan (2007)
While Gambhir played with the bat in 2007 final, Irfan Pathan played an equally crucial role with the ball later in the game.
Pathan finished with an impressive 3/16 of his four overs and chose the crucial grounds of Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, and Yasir Arafat.
Yuvraj Singh (2012)
Virat Kohli scored an undefeated 78 in a Super 8 game at the 2012 T20 World Cup as India comfortably beat Pakistan by eight wickets.
However, it was Yuvraj Singh who helped the victory with full performance.
Yuvraj landed two devastating blows to Pakistan in the middle when he captured Nasir Jamshed and Kamran Akmal. Pakistan never recovered and was sent off at 128.
Yuvraj then whistled with an undefeated 19 to complete the victory.
Amit Mishra (2014)
India scored another convincing victory against Pakistan in 2014 when they beat their arch-rivals by seven wickets.
Amit Mishra was the unsung hero of the game, eliminating Ahmed Shehzad. And Shoaib Malik in crucial stages to keep Pakistan at 130/7 in 20 overs.
He finished with the numbers 2/22 of his four overs.
Virat Kohli (2016)
Virat Kohli had a memorable tournament in 2016 when he played a handful of key shots for India.
One of them was an undefeated 55 against Pakistan as he helped India rebound. From three early hits to chase the 119-run goal with six wickets and 13 balls in a low-scoring game.
