Abhay Sharma is set to apply for the fielding coach role with the Indian cricket team

Abhay Sharma: The 52-year-old will apply for the field coach position with the Indian cricket team.

Abhay Sharma, who has worked for India A, India U19, and more recently the women’s national team, has emerged as one of the candidates for the position of men’s field coach A in place of the outgoing R. Sridhar.

A BCCI source confirmed, “He will be applying for the role soon,”

The application deadline is November 3.
Sharma, who has played 89 premier matches for Delhi, Railways.

And Rajasthan was the field coach for the Indian team that traveled to Zimbabwe in 2016 and to the United States and the West Indies that same year.

Most recently, he received accolades for his work during the UK tour from Indian cricketers.

Including Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, before being replaced on the subsequent Australia tour.

Sharma has traveled to three U19 World Cups, most recently in South Africa in 2020. He was also part of around 10 tours of India-A.

He is one of the coaches of the National Cricket Academy and has worked a lot with his boss, Rahul Dravid, who is one of the pioneers for the head coach position in India.
