Ten people, including Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Misra’s son Ashish Misra, have been arrested so far in connection with the case. The top court is hearing the matter after two lawyers had written a letter to the Chief Justice of India seeking a high-level judicial inquiry into the incident. SC adjourns hearing: New Delhi: On October 3, the. Supreme Court heard a petition on the Lakhimpur. Kheri riots, in which eight people were killed, including four farmers, during a farmers’ protest. During the hearing, CJI NV Ramana chastised the Uttar Pradesh government for failing to file the status report on time.
The UP government’s senior attorney, Harish Salve, told the. Supreme Court that a status report in a sealed cover had been filed in the case. Judges waited until late last night for any file, according to the CJI, and they have just received the report. Salve also requested that the case be adjourned till Friday. But the judges denied his motion first. According to an ANI report.
