Former Australia batsman Michael Slater arrested in Sydney after domestic incident

Former Australia: Former Australian hitter Michael Slater was arrested in Sydney following an incident of domestic violence. Australian media reported Wednesday.

Slater’s manager Sean Anderson declined to comment on the reports.

“Following inquiries, detectives attended a home at Manly about 9:20 a.m. and spoke with a 51-year-old man. He has since been arrested and taken to Manly police station,” NSW Police said in a statement

The New South Wales (NSW) Police said they opened an investigation on Tuesday. Into reports of an incident of domestic violence last week.

Opening batsman Slater played 74 tests and 42 one-day internationals. From 1993 to 2001 before becoming a staple on Australian television screens as a cricket commentator for 15 years.

Slater was fired from the Seven Network cricket commentary team last month after three years with the Australian broadcaster.

The 51-year-old sparked a social media controversy in May after an angry spiel against Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

However, Former Australia Slater said Morrison had “blood on (his) hands” after the government temporarily barred Australians from returning home. From India as the Asian nation battled a major COVID19 outbreak.
