MLSW vs HBHW: Led by Meg Lanning, the Melbourne Stars are not lacking in experience in terms of personnel or performance. They finished runners-up last year and will be looking to jump-start their campaign after suffering an undue defeat in their first meeting.
The stars are currently in seventh place on the scoreboard due to their low net run rate, but this game will be a chance for them to get some momentum. For the stars, a lot will depend on how Meg Lanning, Annabel Sutherland, and Elyse Villani fare. The Hobart Hurricanes have a weak attacking unit and since the contributions don’t come with the bat, they have no one but Priest and Ghosh, who score runs regularly.
Hobart Hurricanes Women were at the bottom of the rankings last year and with two losses to their name, they are likely to be left without confidence.

Despite the fear of being blocked, the Women’s Big Bash League happily marched in 2021 and produced a Humdinger in the process. We saw the first super over of the season in the game between the Perth Scorchers Women and the Brisbane Heat Women and that could well be a sign of things to come in the future.
The next game of the tournament will be played between Melbourne Stars Women and Hobart Hurricanes and given the position of these two teams, this will be a high-stakes match. The game will take place on October 19, 2021, at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart.
