

First Indian Batsman Rohit Sharma: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma reached a major milestone on Tuesday when he became the first Indian batsman to reach 400 sixes in T20 cricket.

The 34-year-old reached the milestone against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Game 51 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in Sharjah on Tuesday.
Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma added another feat to his name on Tuesday when he became the first Indian batsman to reach 400 sixes in T20 cricket.

Apart from Rohit, no other Indian batsman has managed to reach more than 350 sixes in the shorter format. CSK batsman Suresh Raina (325) is the second Indian on the list of over sixes, followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli (320) and Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni (304). Of the 400 six, Rohit reached 133 for the national team and 227 in the IPL. He had hit 16 sixes in the Champions League T20 and another 24 sixes in another T20.
On the list of top sixes in T20. Veteran West Indies hitter Chris Gayle tops the list with a whopping 1,042 sixes.

Gayle is the only hitter in the format’s history to beat more than 1,000 sixes.
Current West Indies Limited-overs captain Kieron Pollard (758) is in second place. Followed by Andre Russell (510), Brendon McCullum (485), Shane Watson (467), and AB de Villiers (434).
On Tuesday, Rohit scored 22 runs with 13 balls as MI comfortably chased RR’s 91-run goal with eight wickets remaining. MI hit the winning streak in the ninth of their innings to inflict a humiliating loss on RR.
The victory raised MI’s hopes of qualifying for the playoffs and suffered a major setback for RR.
