As for the playing field, reports suggest that a flat stretch is likely to occur, which is inherently slow and could dissolve as the game progresses. Queensland has more experience and depth on its roster to give you an edge in this competition.
QUN vs TAS Match & Analysis
Queensland and Tasmania will face each other as Sheffield Shield struggles to gain traction amid COVID19 restrictions. This game was already postponed once and will now be played in Adelaide, a much friendlier place where Tasmania won’t mind.
Queensland would not like not being able to play this game at the Gabba, a much more intimidating place than the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide, but they have no control over it. Still, Queensland enters this match with a huge advantage in terms of player quality and depth.
The bowling alley is a bit thin as some of the front-line players are absent due to injuries. This puts Michael Neser, Jack Wildermuth, and Mark Steketee responsible for getting the job done. Connor Sully could also make his shield debut in this match.
Tasmania is not a team you want to sleep on in this game. He has very good players and the conditions may favor him more than Queensland. Caleb Jewell, Jordan Silk, Beau Webster, Mathew Wade, Ben McDermott, and Sam Rainbird also make the Tasmanian hitting team pretty strong. It doesn’t have the proven quality of the Queensland tests, but these have been among the top performers in home settings for some time.
The bowling alley seems a bit sparse and most of the responsibility falls on Peter Siddle’s shoulders. Jarrod Freeman will be interesting to watch, as he can pick up the pace a lot too. Overall, however, Tasmania could have a difficult time collecting 20 plots.
