ICC T20 World Cup: Kohli Is “Obsessive”

T20 World Cup: Kohli Is “Obsessive” – David Wiese. A Namibian all-rounder and former South African cricketer, remarked on Virat Kohli’s passion for the game ahead of the event.

Namibia may be competing in its first T20 World Cup. But they have veteran campaigner David Wiese in their ranks.

Which will help the Gerhard Erasmus-led side. The 36-year-old has honed his skill all around the world, and he has also represented South Africa in international cricket.

Wiese was eligible for Namibia due to his father’s birth in the nation.

Wiese has played in a major ICC competition before, having represented South Africa in the 2016 T20 World Cup in India.

ICC T20 World Cup: Kohli Is “Obsessive”

“Namibia contacted me after I signed a Kolpak contract in 2017.” My international career was done, and I had accepted the fact that I would never play international cricket again.

When Namibia approached me, Albie Morkel and Pierre de Bruyn (head coach) asked whether I would be interested in playing for them.

I never expected to play international cricket again, so you’d be foolish not to take advantage of the opportunity when it arises.

In an interaction organized by the International Cricket Council, Wiese told ANI, “I am grateful to them that they found value in me.”

During his time with RCB in the IPL, Wiese shared a dressing room with Kohli.

After getting up close and personal with India’s captain, the 36-year-old explained what makes Kohli tick.

“Virat is really obsessive; he wants to be the best and will not stop until he achieves that goal, and that. In my opinion, is his most valuable attribute.

He’s arguably one of the best in the world, yet he’s always looking for ways to better.

Kohli is already a gaming legend, but it isn’t enough for him.

He aspires to be better and is devoted to the sport.

Virat would spend hours upon hours in training, working on various tasks. He’s never satisfied; he’s always looking for ways to improve.”
