Aakash Chopra Hails Virat Kohli: IPL 2021: Given that the RCB is informed and consistent, Chopra felt the playoffs could be interesting this time.
With a six-run win against the Punjab Kings, Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore secured a place in the playoffs for the second time in a row. Questions have been raised about the quality of the team and Kohli’s captaincy, but former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that no one will do that now.
“Feels amazing. After 2011, we haven’t done it with games to spare. Eight wins out of 12 games is a great campaign. We have two more opportunities to finish in the top two. Should give us the motivation to play even more fearlessly,” said Kohli in the presentation ceremony.
Kohli rated RCB’s ongoing campaign at the 2021 IPL. As excellent as the team qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2011 with breaks.
Kohli has been struggling with an offensive approach since the 2021 IPL resumed. Believing bullies can take more risks if the team hasn’t lost a wicket.
“When you don’t have any wickets on the scoreboard, you can take more risks. Which myself and Dev (Padikkal) have to. 15-20 runs on this ground can be crucial. We have to plug those areas. As a side, we have had an endeavor to improve, whether in losses or wins.”
