“I asked bhaiya to give me some time because though I am improving in pace and swing but I wanted to improve my slower balls as I am lagging behind compared to pace and swing,” he said. “I was telling bhaiya that I want to improve my slower ball. He showed me some grip today. And told me that everyone has a different action and showed me things I can try.
“I am happy that he showed me some grip for cutters and it looked good to me and I am sure if I can execute it in the middle it will be beneficial for me. He mainly showed me two or three grips and said that you cannot work on so many things at a time and suggested I try some cutters.”
Taskin, however, clarified he’s not looking to sacrifice his pace even though he’s learning to use the variations. “I cannot bowl like Mustafizur and he is a cutter master. I am not ready to compromise on my pace. It’s about adding new things in my skillset,” Taskin pointed out.
Bangladesh will face Scotland on October 17, before facing Oman and PNG on October 19 and 21, respectively.
