The West Indian arrived in Dubai through another bio-bubble made for the CPL, and his time in a safe environment has taken its toll on him, as it has on many other foreign players during COVID times.
“I wish to be physically recharge and replenish myself After being a part of the CWI , IPL, and CPL bubble over the last few months.” Chris Gayle said.
“I’d prefer to take a break in Dubai and refocus on assisting the West Indies in the T20 World Cup. Thank you to the PBKS for allowing me to take this time off. My thoughts and prayers are always with the team. “All the best for the upcoming games.”
The team, according to head coach Anil Kumble, supports his choice.
